The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has released the UGNEET-2026 Third Round Seat Allotment Provisional Results for admission to Medical and Dental courses for the academic year 2026-27. As per the official notice No. ED/KEA/ADMN/CR-11/2026 dated October 3, 2026, the third-round seat allotment has been conducted based on the merit and options entered by the candidates, and the provisional results have been published on the KEA website.
Candidates who have been allotted seats through both MCC and KEA counselling and wish to take admission to the seat allotted to them in the third round of MCC counselling may exit from the KEA seat allotment process by selecting Choice-4 through the link provided on the KEA website. Candidates must exercise Choice-4 on or before October 5, 2026, up to 12:00 Noon. No penalty will be charged for exiting through this option.
Candidates who have already reported to the college for a seat allotted in the first or second round of KEA counselling, but now wish to take admission to the seat allotted in the third round of MCC counselling, may cancel their KEA-allotted seat by paying a penalty of INR 10,000. The cancellation must be completed on or before October 5, 2026, up to 12:00 Noon.
Similarly, candidates who wish to take admission to a seat allotted to them in the third round of counselling conducted by another state, or candidates who are not interested in their KEA-allotted seat, may cancel the KEA seat by paying a penalty of INR 10,000 by October 5, 2026, up to 12:00 Noon.
KEA has clarified that candidates who exit from KEA counselling through the specified Choice-4 or cancellation options will not be eligible to participate in the next round(s) conducted by KEA.
Candidates who have already joined the college allotted in the MCC first or second round, have been allotted a seat in the MCC third round, and have also received a seat in the KEA third round, but wish to retain their KEA third-round seat, should not opt out of the KEA counselling process.
Such candidates are required to send an email to keauthority-ka@nic.in with the subject:
“Confirmation of My KEA Seat”
The email must mention the candidate's CET Number, Name and Rank and should be sent on or before October 5, 2026, up to 12:00 Noon.
KEA has stated that the medical seats cancelled through Choice-4 because candidates have taken admission through MCC or another state's counselling will be made available to eligible candidates.
To utilise these vacant seats, KEA will re-run the third-round seat allotment for Medical and Dental courses based on the options already entered by candidates. No changes to the existing options will be permitted.
Following the re-run, the third-round seat allotment provisional results will be published. Candidates may be considered for upgradation to higher-order option seats, subject to seat availability and applicable allotment rules.
KEA has clarified that after the announcement of the third-round seat allotment provisional results, the Choice-4/cancellation option will not be available. Thereafter, the third-round seat allotment final results will be published.
If a candidate wishes to surrender the seat after publication of the third-round final results but before the last date prescribed for entry of options for the Stray Vacancy Round, the candidate will have to pay the applicable penalty.
| Course | Seat Surrender Penalty |
|---|---|
| Medical | INR 1,10,000 |
| Dental | INR 60,000 |
KEA has further stated that representations for seat surrender after the last date prescribed for entry of options for the Stray Vacancy Round will not be entertained.
Candidates who surrender their seats after the prescribed deadline cannot participate in counselling for the next three years, and MCC will also be informed.
KEA has advised candidates to carefully consider the college and course allotted to them. If a candidate does not want the allotted college/course or leaves the college after joining, it will be considered a serious lapse in the maintenance of social responsibility, as other candidates are waiting for seat allotment.
