The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has released a corrigendum regarding Round 3 online counselling under the Under Graduate Medical Admission Counselling (UGMAC) 2026 process.
The notification, dated October 14, 2026, applies to NEET UG 2026-qualified candidates seeking admission to MBBS, BDS, Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) and Bachelor of Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc.) courses in government and private institutions in Bihar.
The corrigendum updates the instructions issued through Advertisement No. BCECEB(UGMAC)-2026/09 dated September 30, 2026, particularly regarding seat acceptance, physical reporting and participation in the Stray Vacancy Round.
According to BCECEB, candidates allotted fresh, retained or upgraded seats through Round 3 will be treated as Freeze candidates because of a technical issue. This applies to candidates allotted MBBS, BDS, B.V.Sc. & A.H. and B.F.Sc. seats.
All allotted candidates must physically visit the institute or reporting centre specified in their provisional seat allotment order within the prescribed schedule. They must carry all original documents uploaded during the counselling process for document verification and admission.
The corrigendum outlines different conditions for candidates allotted MBBS/BDS seats and those allotted veterinary or fisheries seats.
| Candidate situation | Rule stated in the corrigendum |
|---|---|
| MBBS/BDS seat allotted, but candidate does not report for verification | Security deposit will be forfeited and the allotted seat cancelled. |
| MBBS/BDS candidate completes verification but does not take admission | Security deposit will be forfeited and the allotted seat cancelled. |
| Candidate is found ineligible during verification because of unresolved data discrepancies | Seat will be cancelled and security deposit forfeited. |
| B.V.Sc. & A.H./B.F.Sc. candidate completes verification successfully | Candidate must take admission at the allotted institute by submitting original documents. |
| Candidate wishes to participate in the Stray Vacancy Round | Candidate must log in to the UGMAC portal, provide consent and meet the applicable fee and eligibility conditions. |
Candidates allotted MBBS or BDS seats in Round 3 who fail to report, do not take admission after verification or are found ineligible because of unresolved data discrepancies will lose their allotted seats, and their security deposits will be forfeited.
Such candidates may participate in the Stray Vacancy Round only after logging in through the Online Portal of UGMAC-2026 using their NEET UG 2026 roll number and password, providing consent and making a fresh payment of the counselling fee and security deposit. Under the corrigendum, these candidates will be eligible only for B.V.Sc. & A.H. or B.F.Sc. seats.
Candidates allotted B.V.Sc. & A.H. or B.F.Sc. seats in Round 3 who successfully complete document verification must take admission at their allotted institutions and submit all original documents.
Candidates in this category who wish to participate in the Stray Vacancy Round must log in to the UGMAC-2026 portal and provide consent. Those who complete the required admission and consent formalities will be eligible to participate for MBBS, BDS, B.V.Sc. & A.H. and B.F.Sc. seats, subject to the applicable counselling rules.
Candidates who fail to report for document verification, do not take admission or are found ineligible because of unresolved discrepancies will have their seats cancelled and security deposits forfeited. They must provide consent and pay the counselling fee and security deposit afresh to participate in the Stray Vacancy Round, as specified in the corrigendum.
Candidates should visit the official BCECEB website to read the complete corrigendum, access the UGMAC-2026 online portal and check the prescribed counselling schedule.
