The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam has released the Assam State Provisional Merit List for NEET UG 2026 for admission to 1st-year MBBS and BDS courses in the government medical and dental colleges of the state under the State Quota seats.
The provisional merit list was published on August 11, 2026, following the Directorate’s earlier notification dated August 5, 2026. Candidates whose names and NEET UG 2026 roll numbers appear in the Assam State Provisional Merit List will be eligible to participate in the upcoming counselling process, subject to fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility conditions.
Admissions to MBBS and BDS courses in Assam government medical and dental colleges will be conducted according to the Medical Colleges and Dental Colleges of Assam (Regulation of Admission into 1st Year MBBS/BDS Courses) Rules, 2017, as amended up to 2026.
The merit list will serve as an important basis for candidates seeking admission under the Assam State Quota. Eligible candidates should carefully check their details in the provisional merit list and remain updated regarding the counselling schedule, registration, choice filling, seat allotment and admission process.
