The Directorate of Medical Education, Chhattisgarh has announced an important update for candidates participating in the Chhattisgarh NEET UG 2026 state-level counselling. According to the latest notice, the MBBS seat intake at Shri Rajiv Gandhi Government Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Nava Raipur has been increased for the academic session 2026-27.
As per the notice, the National Medical Commission (NMC), through the Under Graduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB), issued a Letter of Renewal regarding the MBBS course. The increase in seats has also been supported by the proposal submitted by Shri Rajiv Gandhi Government Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Nava Raipur, along with the Consent of Affiliation issued by Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Memorial Health Sciences and Ayush University, Chhattisgarh, Raipur.
Following the relevant approvals and documents, the MBBS admission capacity of Shri Rajiv Gandhi Government Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Nava Raipur, has been increased from 100 seats to 150 seats for the academic year 2026-27.
The revised seat intake will now be reflected in the Chhattisgarh NEET UG 2026 counselling seat matrix. Candidates participating in the state-level counselling will therefore be considered for the institute according to the revised seat matrix containing 150 MBBS seats.
The Directorate of Medical Education has clarified that all upcoming counselling-related activities concerning the institute will be conducted according to the revised seat matrix.
