Dr NTR University of Health Sciences (Dr NTR UHS) has issued an important advisory for candidates seeking admission to MBBS and BDS courses for the academic year 2026-27. The advisory provides clarification on the revised rules regarding web-options, seat allotment and participation in subsequent counselling rounds.
As per the advisory, candidates participating in web-options can select all MBBS and BDS colleges in which they are interested. The University has advised candidates to enter as many preferred colleges as possible and arrange them according to their desired order of priority.
The University stated that entering more options can increase the chances of securing a seat during the counselling process.
A major change highlighted by Dr NTR UHS is that candidates who are allotted a seat in one counselling round but do not join the allotted seat will still be eligible to participate in subsequent counselling rounds.
Earlier, candidates who failed to join their allotted seat were not eligible to participate in the subsequent counselling process. The University has now clarified that this rule has been changed under the present counselling regulations.
While candidates can participate in subsequent rounds, they cannot select the same college that was previously allotted to them but which they did not report to or join.
At every subsequent stage of counselling, candidates will have the opportunity to choose from other available colleges according to their preferences.
The advisory also provides relief to candidates who were unable to submit their web options during the first phase.
Such candidates will be permitted to enter their web options in a subsequent counselling phase, subject to the applicable rules and schedule.
Dr NTR UHS has also stated that candidates will have the facility to change the order of preference of colleges according to their choice.
Candidates are therefore advised to carefully arrange their MBBS and BDS college preferences and make full use of the option-entry facility.
Candidates should keep the following points in mind:
The University has advised all MBBS and BDS applicants to carefully read the web-options notification and make full use of the available choice-entry facility. Candidates are particularly advised to include all colleges they are genuinely interested in, in their preferred order.Click here
