NBEMS Releases FNB 2025 Counselling Schedule; Registration Begins July 9

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has officially released the FNB 2025 counselling schedule for admission to Fellowship National Board (FNB) courses. The online centralized merit-based counselling will be conducted for the 2025 admission session, with the registration process beginning on 9 July 2026.

Eligible candidates who qualified for FNB 2025 can participate in the online counselling process through the official counselling portal. NBEMS has announced the complete schedule for the first and second rounds, along with important guidelines regarding registration, seat choice filling, fee payment, seat allotment, and reporting to allotted hospitals.

FNB 2025 Counselling Schedule

First Round

  • Registration: 9 July to 13 July 2026 (up to 5:00 PM)
  • Choice Filling & Locking: 9 July to 13 July 2026
  • Mandatory Course Fee Payment: 9 July to 13 July 2026
  • Seat Allotment Processing: 14–15 July 2026
  • Seat Allotment Result: 16 July 2026
  • Physical Joining: 16 July to 22 July 2026

Second Round

  • Fresh Registration: Not Allowed
  • Choice Filling: 28 July to 30 July 2026
  • Seat Allotment Processing: 31 July 2026
  • Seat Allotment Result: 3 August 2026
  • Physical Joining: 3 August to 10 August 2026

NBEMS has clarified that any additional counselling rounds will depend on the availability of vacant seats after the second round.

Registration Fee and Course Fee

Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable counselling registration fee of ?2,500 during online registration.

Additionally, candidates must deposit the first-year course fee of ?1,25,000 to complete the counselling registration process. However, if a candidate is not allotted any seat in any counselling round, the annual course fee will be refunded.

Important Instructions for Candidates

Candidates can register only once during the counselling process. No fresh registration will be allowed after the registration window closes.

Applicants must carefully fill, lock and confirm their seat preferences before the deadline. If choices are not locked and confirmed, the system will not consider them for seat allotment.

Candidates allotted a seat must choose either the Freeze or Upgradation option. Those who fail to select either option will become ineligible for subsequent counselling rounds, and the deposited first-year course fee will be forfeited by NBEMS.

Admission will remain provisional until original documents are verified at the allotted institute.

Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official NBEMS counselling portal for the provisional seat matrix, counselling handbook, and future updates.
