The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) has released a notice for the 1st Round of Online Counselling for Post-Graduate Dental (MDS) State Quota seats for the 2026 admission session. The counselling will be conducted on the basis of the NEET MDS 2026 result, and eligible candidates are required to register online and upload the required certificates and documents within the prescribed schedule.
According to the notice, the online application process for the preparation of the Jharkhand State Merit List will begin on August 21, 2026 and continue until August 23, 2026. Candidates must apply through the official JCECEB website and select the “POST-GRADUATE DENTAL Online Application Form Submission - 2026” tab.

Candidates who find any discrepancy or anomaly in their merit rank must inform the Board with supporting documents through the email address specified in the notice.
The notice specifies several eligibility conditions for candidates seeking admission to MDS courses against State Quota seats.
Candidates who have passed BDS from a medical/dental institute or college in Jharkhand are eligible. Candidates who are residents of Jharkhand and had been admitted to BDS courses in dental colleges in Bihar under the conditions specified in the applicable government resolution may also be eligible.
Such candidates must produce a Local Resident Certificate issued by the S.D.O. (Civil) or Deputy Commissioner of Jharkhand.
Local residents of Jharkhand who are serving doctors in the State Government may also be eligible for State Quota MDS admission even if they completed BDS from a dental college outside Jharkhand. They must also produce the required Local Resident Certificate.
Candidates must have Permanent or Temporary Registration with DCI or the Jharkhand State Medical Council. Candidates holding temporary registration can participate, but they must obtain permanent registration by the last date of admission. Otherwise, their admission will be cancelled.
Candidates must also have completed their Rotating Internship by May 31, 2026.
The applicable reservation policies and rules of the Government of Jharkhand will apply to the counselling process.
The notice states that caste certificates issued by anyone other than the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) or Deputy Commissioner of Jharkhand will not be accepted for the relevant claims.
For BC-I and BC-II candidates, the caste certificate must clearly establish that the candidate does not belong to the creamy layer.
The Board has stated that incentive marks will be provided for working in rural and remote areas of Jharkhand, as per the applicable government notification dated November 21, 2022.
The prescribed certificate format for Medical Officers posted in notified remote and difficult areas is available through the Download section of the JCECEB website.
Candidates are required to pay the applicable Application/Registration Fee, Counselling Fee and Security Deposit through the online payment gateway using credit card, debit card or net banking.

The security deposit will be forfeited if a candidate does not take admission after seat allotment in the second or subsequent round, as specified in the notice.
The security money may also be forfeited if the candidate provides incorrect information during registration or fails to produce the required original certificates at the time of admission.
However, the security deposit will be refunded if the candidate takes valid admission and does not receive a seat in any stage of counselling.
The notice states that the security deposit deposited during counselling will be refunded to the candidate and/or institute within three months after completion of the last round of online counselling.
