The Atal Medical & Research University (AMRU), Himachal Pradesh, has issued an important notice for Government and Private nursing colleges regarding the admission and document verification process for the 2026-27 academic session.

The notice directs the admission committees of Government and Private nursing colleges to ensure that the eligibility and required documents of candidates allotted through the counselling process are properly verified before completing the admission process.

The instructions apply to candidates seeking admission to:

• B.Sc. Nursing
• Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing
• M.Sc. Nursing

Colleges Must Verify Eligibility and Documents

According to AMRU, the Admission Committee of each Government and Private nursing college, constituted under the respective Principal, must verify the eligibility of candidates and the required documents submitted by them.

The verification must be carried out as per the provisions of the applicable Prospectus.

Colleges are required to ensure that candidates have valid documents and meet the prescribed eligibility requirements before proceeding with admission-related formalities.

Registration May Be Denied for Incorrect or Invalid Documents

AMRU has clarified that if any candidate has been admitted with incorrect or incomplete documents, or with an invalid Allocation/Provisional Seat Allocation Letter, the registration of that candidate will not be done by AMRU.

Therefore, candidates are advised to ensure that all documents submitted during the counselling and admission process are complete, valid and consistent with the requirements specified in the Prospectus.

No Admission Without Prior Counselling Allocation

AMRU has reiterated an important instruction for all nursing colleges in Himachal Pradesh.

No college is permitted to admit any student to any nursing course without prior allocation by the Counselling Committee.

This means that colleges cannot independently admit candidates to B.Sc. Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing or M.Sc. Nursing seats without an allocation through the prescribed counselling process.

Instructions for Government and Private Nursing Colleges

The notice has been circulated to the Director of Medical Education and Research, Himachal Pradesh; Registrar, AMRU; and Principals of all Government and Private Nursing Colleges in Himachal Pradesh for information and necessary action.

Colleges have been instructed to follow the verification and admission process as prescribed by AMRU.
