The Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) has released important instructions regarding the centralized real-time admission process for GATE-qualified candidates seeking admission to various M.Tech programmes for the academic year 2026-27. The university has also published the GATE rank lists on its official admissions portal.

According to the Directorate of Admissions, all candidates whose names appear in the published GATE rank lists are required to report in person for the centralized admission process scheduled to be held on June 18, 2026 (Thursday) at the Seminar Complex, CUSAT, Thrikkakara, Kochi.

The admission process covers several M.Tech programmes offered by different university departments, including Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science & Artificial Intelligence), Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering, Cyber Security, Business Analytics and Intelligence, VLSI and Embedded Systems, Opto-Electronics and Laser Technology, Electronic Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Industrial Safety, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Synthetic Biology and Biomanufacturing, and Executive M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, among others.

Candidates have been instructed to report to the venue by 9:30 AM, as registration for the real-time admission process will begin at 9:30 AM and close sharply at 10:30 AM. Candidates arriving after the registration deadline will not be permitted to participate in the admission process. Those appearing in rank lists for multiple programmes need to register only once and will automatically be considered for all eligible programmes.

The admission process will commence at 11:00 AM, during which department officials will call candidates according to their ranks. Seat allotment will be based on factors such as rank, reservation eligibility, fulfilment of eligibility criteria, and seat availability. Once allotted a seat, candidates must log in to the admissions portal, confirm their allotment, upload the required documents, and complete the online fee payment process.

CUSAT has clarified that admission will be considered complete only after the successful payment of fees and verification of original documents. Candidates who fail to remit the prescribed fee within the stipulated timeframe will lose their allotted seats without any further notice. The university also noted that acceptance of one allotted programme will automatically cancel any other programme allotments.

Applicants must carry original documents for verification, including SSLC certificate, Class 12 certificate, degree mark sheets, degree or provisional certificate, transfer certificate, conduct certificate, and valid GATE scorecard. Candidates claiming reservation benefits must also produce the relevant category certificates and supporting documents as specified by the university.

The university has advised all candidates to carefully review the admission prospectus and ensure that they satisfy the eligibility requirements before attending the real-time admission session. It further emphasised that mere registration for the admission process does not guarantee admission, as final allotment is subject to eligibility conditions and seat availability. Candidates seeking additional details regarding the admission procedure and fee structure can visit the official CUSAT admissions portal. Click here
