The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that it is fully prepared to conduct the NEET UG 2026 Re-Examination on 21 June 2026 across India and abroad. The examination will be held in pen-and-paper mode from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM, while eligible PwD/PwBD candidates will receive compensatory time until 6:20 PM.

According to the official press release issued on 19 June 2026, more than 22.79 lakh candidates will appear for the examination across 551 cities in India and 14 international cities.

Massive Security Arrangements in Place

To ensure a fair and transparent examination, NTA has deployed an extensive security network, including:

  • 674 City Coordinators
  • 6,669 Observers
  • More than 2 lakh examination personnel
  • GPS-enabled transportation of confidential materials
  • CCTV surveillance at all examination centres
  • Aadhaar-based biometric verification
  • Police escorts for secure movement of examination materials
  • Real-time monitoring through centralised control rooms

The agency has also intensified monitoring of social media platforms to prevent rumours, misinformation, and malpractice. Complaints have already been filed with cyber-crime authorities, including I4C and the CBI, against individuals spreading false information.

Reporting Time and Entry Schedule

Candidates must report to their allotted examination centre between 11:00 AM and 1:30 PM.

The entry gates will close sharply at 1:30 PM, and no candidate will be allowed to enter after the deadline under any circumstances.

Candidates wearing customary or religious attire are advised to arrive early to allow sufficient time for security checks.
