The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an important advisory regarding the dress code and permitted items for candidates appearing in the NEET UG 2026 Re-Examination, scheduled to be conducted on 21 June 2026 across examination centres in India.

The advisory aims to ensure smooth entry, faster security checks, and fair conduct of the examination. Candidates are advised to strictly follow the prescribed dress code and avoid carrying prohibited items to prevent any inconvenience on the examination day.

Transparent Water Bottles and Admit Card Pouches Allowed

According to the official notice, candidates are permitted to carry:

  • Transparent water bottles inside the examination hall.
  • Admit cards kept inside transparent plastic pouches to protect them from rain or damage.

These items are allowed only if they comply with the examination guidelines.

Religious Attire and Full-Sleeve Clothing Permitted

NTA has clarified that candidates may wear articles or objects of faith, including:

  • Turbans
  • Hijabs
  • Kalawas
  • Religious symbols
  • Similar faith-based attire

Candidates wearing such items must report to the examination centre well before the reporting time to allow sufficient time for detailed frisking.

Similarly, candidates may wear full-sleeve garments or woollen clothing, if required, but early reporting is mandatory for security checks.

Footwear Guidelines

Candidates are advised to wear:

  • Slippers
  • Sandals
  • Low-heeled footwear

Those wearing high-heeled shoes may undergo additional security screening before entering the examination hall.

Items Strictly Prohibited

NTA has strictly prohibited candidates from carrying:

  • Mobile phones
  • Smartwatches
  • Bluetooth devices
  • Earphones
  • Electronic gadgets
  • Communication devices
  • Metallic accessories
  • Heavy jewellery
  • Large belt buckles

Possession of prohibited items inside the examination centre may result in denial of entry.

Mandatory Frisking Before Entry

Every candidate will undergo mandatory frisking before entering the examination hall. To avoid last-minute delays, candidates should report to the examination centre at the scheduled reporting time and cooperate with the security staff throughout the verification process.

Failure to comply with the prescribed dress code or security instructions may lead to denial of entry into the examination hall.

Candidates Advised to Follow Official Instructions

NTA has urged all candidates to carefully follow the official dress code and examination guidelines to ensure smooth conduct of the NEET UG 2026 Re-Examination. Candidates facing any queries can contact the NTA Helpdesk through the official helpline numbers or email provided by the agency.
