The Bar Council of India through its trust has officially published the syllabus for the All India Bar Examination XXI (AIBE XXI) dated 02.03.2026. The exam will assess candidates across a wide range of legal subjects with a total of 100 questions.
The syllabus includes core law subjects such as Constitutional Law, Criminal Law (including both the Indian Penal Code and the newly introduced Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita), Criminal Procedure Code along with Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, Civil Procedure Code, and Evidence Law along with Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam.
Other subjects include Family Law, Public Interest Litigation, Administrative Law, Professional Ethics, Company Law, Environmental Law, Cyber Law, Labour & Industrial Law, Law of Tort, Taxation Law, Contract Law, Property Law, Land Acquisition, and Intellectual Property Laws.
The weightage varies by subject, with key subjects like Constitutional Law, CPC, and CrPC carrying higher marks. The introduction of new criminal laws indicates a shift towards updated legal frameworks in the examination.
Candidates preparing for AIBE XXI are advised to thoroughly review both traditional laws and newly enacted statutes to perform well in the examination.
