The State Council for Technical Education (SCTE), Assam, under the Directorate of Technical Education, Assam, has issued an official corrigendum announcing the cancellation of the previously released admission notification for the Diploma in Engineering (Self-Financing) Programme in Electronics Engineering (Semiconductor Manufacturing and Smart Automation) for the academic session 2026–27.

According to the official educational notice issued on May 19, 2026, the earlier admission notification published in Assam newspapers regarding admissions into the specialised diploma programme across five State Government Polytechnics of Assam has been cancelled due to unavoidable reasons.

The authorities clarified that the admission process for the programme has been put on hold until further notice, and candidates are advised not to proceed based on the previous notification. However, officials have confirmed that fresh dates for online registration and admission-related activities will be announced soon through official channels.
