National Testing Agency has issued an important advisory regarding the dress code and permissible items for candidates appearing in the CUET UG 2026 examination. The entrance exam will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode from May 11 to May 31, 2026 across India and selected international cities.

According to the official notice, candidates are allowed to carry transparent water bottles inside the examination centre. The agency has also clarified that candidates wearing articles or objects of faith, including religious threads like kalava, will be permitted, but they must report to the examination centre early for proper frisking procedures.

The advisory further mentions that candidates are encouraged to wear light-coloured clothing, while woollen clothes will also be allowed if required. However, students wearing additional layers or religious attire are advised to arrive well before the reporting time to avoid inconvenience during security checks.Regarding footwear, the NTA has recommended candidates wear normal shoes, slippers, or low heels on the examination day for smooth entry at the exam centres.
