The Diploma Common Entrance Test (DCET) 2026 is expected to be conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority for admission into the second year (lateral entry) of undergraduate engineering programs (B.E./B.Tech) across Karnataka.
DCET is a state-level entrance examination specifically designed for candidates who have completed a diploma in engineering or equivalent qualification. It allows eligible students to directly enter the second year (3rd semester) of engineering courses in government, aided, and private colleges within the state.
The official notification for DCET 2026 is likely to be released in the first half of 2026, followed by the start of the online application process. Candidates will be required to fill out the application form through the official KEA website and pay the prescribed fee.
The exam is expected to be conducted in offline or computer-based mode, depending on the authority’s final decision. The question paper generally includes subjects related to the candidate’s diploma specialization along with basic mathematics and analytical ability.
After the examination, KEA will release the results and merit list, followed by a centralized counselling process. Qualified candidates can participate in option entry and seat allotment to secure admission into various engineering colleges across Karnataka.
Applicants are advised to regularly check the official website for updates regarding eligibility criteria, exam pattern, syllabus, and counselling schedule to ensure timely participation in the admission process.
