The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has officially invited applications for its Web-Enabled M.Tech and Postgraduate Diploma (PG Diploma) Programs 2026, offering flexible higher education opportunities for working professionals and fresh graduates. The institute has announced that the last date to apply is May 31, 2026.

These online postgraduate programmes are designed to help learners continue their education without relocating or leaving their jobs. Classes will be conducted through live online sessions, mostly during evenings and weekends, allowing candidates to balance academics with professional commitments.

According to IIT Madras, the entrance examinations are scheduled to be conducted during June and July 2026, while selected candidates are expected to begin their academic sessions in August or September 2026.

For admission to the Web-Enabled M.Tech programmes, applicants must have a relevant educational background along with a minimum of two years of work experience. Meanwhile, the PG Diploma programmes are open to graduates, including freshers, with preference given to candidates from relevant academic disciplines.

A key highlight of the programmes is their project-based learning approach, enabling students to work on real-world industry problems while continuing their professional careers. The courses also offer multiple entry and exit options, allowing learners to start with a PG Diploma and later transition to an M.Tech programme.
