The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has commenced the CAP Round 2 option form submission and confirmation process for MHT CET 2026 engineering admissions today, August 7, 2026.

Candidates eligible for the second round of the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) can now log in to the official admission portal and submit their preferred colleges and branches for admission to B.E. and B.Tech programmes.

The CET Cell has released the CAP Round 2 vacant seat matrix, which shows around 54,700 vacant engineering seats available across participating institutes and branches.

MHT CET CAP Round 2 Schedule

The official CET Cell portal confirms that candidates can submit and confirm their CAP Round 2 option forms from August 7 to August 9, 2026.

Candidates Can Modify College Preferences

Eligible candidates can review the vacant seat matrix before submitting their preferences. They can arrange their preferred institutes and branches according to the available vacancies and their admission preferences.

Candidates should carefully check the institute-wise, branch-wise and category-wise vacancy details before confirming the option form.

Seat Allotment on August 12

After the choice filling window closes, the CET Cell will process the preferences and announce the MHT CET CAP Round 2 provisional seat allotment result on August 12, 2026.

Candidates allotted seats in Round 2 will then have to complete the prescribed seat acceptance, fee payment, document verification and institute reporting formalities within the notified schedule.

Candidates Advised to Confirm Choices Before Deadline

Candidates should ensure that their option form is submitted and confirmed before 9 August 2026.
