AP AYUSH Counselling 2026: BAMS, BHMS and BUMS Applications Begin September 9

The Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (Dr. NTR UHS), Vijayawada has released the notification for admission to BAMS, BHMS and BUMS courses for the academic session 2026-27.

The admission process is being conducted for Competent Authority Quota seats available in Government and Private Unaided Non-Minority Ayurveda, Homoeopathy and Unani Medical Colleges affiliated with Dr. NTR UHS in Andhra Pradesh.

Eligible candidates who have qualified NEET UG 2026 with the prescribed cutoff score can submit the common online application form and upload scanned copies of their original certificates through the designated admission portal.

The University has clarified that the dates are tentative and may be changed depending on applicable circumstances and directions from competent authorities.

NEET UG 2026 Cutoff for BAMS, BHMS and BUMS

Candidates must secure the prescribed qualifying score in NEET UG 2026 to participate in the admission process.

Candidates must also satisfy the course-specific eligibility requirements prescribed by the relevant AYUSH regulations.

Competent Authority Quota Seats

The notification is for determining the State Merit Position for admission against Competent Authority Quota seats.

This includes:

  • Seats remaining after contribution of 15% seats to All India Quota in Government AYUSH colleges
  • Category A seats, representing 50% of intake, in Private Unaided Non-Minority AYUSH Colleges affiliated with Dr. NTR UHS

Eligibility Criteria

Age Requirement

Candidates seeking admission must:

  • Have completed 17 years of age as on December 31, 2026.
  • Candidates born on or after January 1, 2010, are not eligible.
  • Date of birth will be considered according to the SSC or equivalent examination certificate.
  • There is no upper age limit mentioned in the notification.

BAMS and BHMS Eligibility

For admission to BAMS and BHMS, candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Biology or Biotechnology

Candidates must also meet the prescribed NEET UG 2026 qualifying percentile.

BUMS Eligibility

For BUMS, candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Biology or Biotechnology

NEET UG 2026 qualification is compulsory.

Candidates must also have passed Urdu, Arabic or Persian as a subject in Class 10 or Class 12.

Candidates who have not studied any of these languages will be required to study Urdu along with Arabic and Mantiq Wa-Falsafa (Logic and Philosophy) during the First Professional BUMS session, as prescribed by the applicable regulations.

PwD Candidates

Candidates applying under the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category must possess the prescribed PwD certificate in accordance with the applicable Central Government and NCISM/NCH guidelines.

PwD candidates must mention their PwD status while submitting the online application.

They will also be required to appear before the Medical Board constituted by the competent authority for determination of eligibility under the PwD category.

PIO and OCI Candidates

Candidates registered as Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card holders on or after March 4, 2021 will be eligible for admission only against NRI seats or supernumerary seats.

They will not be eligible for seats reserved exclusively for Indian citizens.

Documents Required for Online Application

Candidates should scan and keep the required documents ready before starting the application process.

Important documents include:

  • Birth Certificate/SSC Marks Memo
  • Intermediate Marks Memo or equivalent qualifying examination certificate
  • Study Certificates from Class 6 to Class 10
  • Intermediate study certificates
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Caste Certificate, if applicable
  • Minority Certificate, if applicable
  • Valid EWS Income and Asset Certificate, if applicable
  • Parental Income Certificate/White Ration Card, if applicable
  • PwBD Certificate/UDID and required affidavits, if applicable
  • NCC Certificate, if applicable
  • CAP Certificate and supporting documents, if applicable
  • Required proof for claiming 15% unreserved seats
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Local Status Certificate, wherever applicable
  • Latest passport-size photograph with name and date
  • Candidate's specimen signature

Candidates should ensure that mandatory certificates are properly scanned and uploaded in the prescribed format and file size.

Application Fee

The application and processing fee is:

The fee can be paid online through Debit Card, Credit Card or Net Banking.

The University has stated that the application fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

How to Apply for AP AYUSH Counselling 2026

Eligible candidates can follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official Dr. NTR UHS admission website.
  2. Read the BAMS, BHMS and BUMS prospectus and regulations carefully.
  3. Complete the online registration.
  4. Enter the required personal, academic and NEET UG details.
  5. Pay the applicable application and processing fee.
  6. Upload the scanned copies of all mandatory certificates.
  7. Upload the latest photograph and specimen signature.
  8. Verify all details before final submission.
  9. Download and retain a printout of the completed application form.

Candidates should keep their User ID confidential for future use.

Merit List and Counselling Process

Dr. NTR UHS will scrutinize the uploaded information and certificates submitted by candidates.

After verification, the University will publish a provisional merit list. Candidates will be given an opportunity to raise grievances, after which the final merit position will be released.

The same application will be considered for subsequent counselling rounds, including stray vacancy rounds, subject to fulfillment of eligibility requirements.

The University has clarified that there will be no offline admission or admission without counselling. Admissions made in violation of the prescribed process or after the applicable cut-off date may be cancelled.

Fee Structure

For Government Colleges, the tuition fee will be as fixed by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

For private colleges, the notification states that the tuition fee structure for the academic year 2026-27 will be as fixed by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

The notification also lists earlier tuition fee orders for certain private colleges, but candidates should follow the fee structure applicable to AY 2026-27 as notified by the competent authorities.

Important Instructions

Candidates should carefully verify all information before submitting the application.

Applications may be rejected automatically if:

  • Mandatory certificates are not uploaded.
  • Required details are incomplete.
  • Uploaded certificates are unclear or invisible.
  • Certificates are improperly scanned and eligibility cannot be determined.

The University will verify original certificates at the time of joining the allotted college. If any discrepancy is found, the provisional allotment may be cancelled.Candidates submitting false, fake or forged documents may have their candidature or admission cancelled.
