Meghalaya BAMS Admission 2026: 59 Seats Announced at IA Ayurvedic Medical College, USTM

The Government of Meghalaya, Office of the Director of Health Services, Medical Education & Research (DME) has issued an advertisement for admission to the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) 1st-year course at IA Ayurvedic Medical College (IAMC), University of Science & Technology, Meghalaya (USTM), Baridua for the academic session 2026-27.

Admissions will be conducted against State Quota, Management Quota and NRI Quota seats. Eligible candidates must have qualified UGNEET-2026 and will be considered for admission based on their UGNEET-2026 All India Rank.

Meghalaya BAMS Admission 2026: 59 Seats Available

A total of 59 BAMS seats are available at IA Ayurvedic Medical College for the 2026-27 academic session.

The seats will be filled through the counselling process conducted by the Directorate of Health Services, Medical Education & Research, Meghalaya.

Meghalaya BAMS Admission 2026: Application Dates

The advertisement states that online applications for BAMS admission are invited from September 8, 2026, with the last date for online submission mentioned as September 13, 2026, up to 6:00 PM.

The detailed counselling schedule in the notice separately mentions an online application period of September 7 to September 10, 2026, up to 5:00 PM.

Eligibility for State Quota BAMS Seats

Candidates applying for State Government Quota seats must be residents of Meghalaya.

For BAMS admission, candidates must have passed 2nd Year PUC/Class 12 or an equivalent examination, with English as one of the languages.

Candidates must have secured:

  • 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology for general candidates.
  • 40% aggregate marks for eligible ST/SC/OST candidates.

Candidates must also satisfy the other eligibility requirements prescribed in the UGNEET-2026 Information Bulletin.

Admission merit will be determined on the basis of the candidate's UGNEET-2026 All India Rank.

Management Quota Eligibility

Candidates seeking admission under the Management Quota must be citizens of India.

They must have passed Class 12/2nd Year PUC or equivalent with English as one of the languages and must have obtained the prescribed marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

The minimum academic requirement is 50% aggregate marks for general candidates and 40% for eligible ST/SC/OST candidates.

Candidates must also qualify UGNEET-2026, with merit determined according to their UGNEET-2026 All India Rank.

NRI Quota Eligibility

The NRI Quota is divided into two categories:

  • Category I: NRI/Children of NRI who originally belong to Meghalaya.
  • Category II: NRI/Children of NRI who originally belong to an Indian State other than Meghalaya.

Candidates claiming NRI status must provide the required documents establishing their status. The notice mentions documents such as:

  • Foreign Country Passport
  • Green Card
  • Permanent Resident Card
  • Proof of residency issued by the competent authority
  • OCI/PIO Card issued by the Government of India

NRI candidates must also satisfy the prescribed academic and UGNEET-2026 qualification requirements.

Age Limit for BAMS Admission

Candidates must be at least 17 years old on December 31, 2026 for admission to the first year of BAMS.

Candidates must fulfil all other eligibility conditions applicable under the UGNEET-2026 admission rules.

Meghalaya BAMS Admission 2026: Application and Counselling Fees
