DTU B.Tech Special Spot Round Counselling 2026: Registration Dates, Vacant Seats and Admission Details

Delhi Technological University (DTU) has released the schedule, vacant seats and participation instructions for the Special Spot Round Counselling for B.Tech Admission 2026. The special spot round will be conducted for candidates seeking admission against the remaining vacant B.Tech seats for the academic session 2026-27.

The Special Spot Round Counselling will be held on August 24 and August 25, 2026, at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Auditorium, Delhi Technological University, Main Bawana Road, Shahbad Daulatpur, Delhi–110042.

Candidates will be called category-wise and seat allotment will be carried out on the basis of their JEE Main 2026 Paper-I CRL rank and availability of vacant seats.

Who Can Participate in DTU Special Spot Round?

According to the DTU notice, only candidates who have:

  • Qualified JEE Main 2026 Paper-I, and
  • Registered for JAC Delhi Admission and eCounselling Services for Session 2026

can participate in the DTU Special Spot Round.

No fresh registration will be permitted for the DTU Special Spot Round.

The candidate can participate personally or through an authorized representative.

DTU B.Tech Special Spot Round Vacant Seats

DTU has notified vacant seats across several B.Tech programmes under Delhi and Outside Delhi categories.

Outside Delhi Vacancies

The notified vacancies include seats in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Automotive Engineering, Bio-Technology, Civil Engineering, Production & Industrial Engineering, Mechanical and Automation Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Environmental Engineering.

Some of the notified vacancies include:

  • SC: Bio-Technology – 3 seats; Civil Engineering – 2 seats
  • OBC: Bio-Technology – 2 seats; Environmental Engineering – 2 seats
  • EWS: Mechanical Engineering, MAM, Bio-Technology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Production & Industrial Engineering seats
  • General: Bio-Technology – 3 seats; Civil Engineering – 3 seats; Environmental Engineering – 3 seats; Production & Industrial Engineering – 4 seats

Delhi Vacancies

Vacancies have also been notified under SC, OBC, EWS, Single Girl Child and General categories.

Major notified vacancies include:

  • SC: Bio-Technology – 7 seats; Environmental Engineering – 3 seats
  • OBC: Bio-Technology – 7 seats; Environmental Engineering – 6 seats
  • EWS: Bio-Technology – 6 seats; Civil Engineering – 5 seats; Environmental Engineering – 7 seats; Chemical Engineering – 5 seats
  • Single Girl Child: Bio-Technology, Environmental Engineering and Production & Industrial Engineering – 1 seat each
  • General: Bio-Technology – 9 seats; Civil Engineering – 8 seats; Environmental Engineering – 11 seats

Documents Required for DTU Special Spot Round

Candidates participating in the Special Spot Round must bring the required original documents, photocopies and a Demand Draft of Rs. 2,69,700.

The Demand Draft must be drawn in favour of “Registrar DTU”, payable at Delhi. The notice states that no other mode of payment will be accepted.

Candidates are required to bring:

  1. JAC Registration Form/ candidate profile, duly signed by the candidate and parent/guardian.
  2. Three passport-size photographs.
  3. JEE Main 2026 Admit Card and Score Card.
  4. Class XII mark sheet — original and one photocopy.
  5. Class XII qualifying examination admit card — original and one photocopy.
  6. Class X mark sheet — original and one photocopy.
  7. Applicable category certificates such as ST/SC/EWS/OBC/PD/CW/SG — original and one photocopy.
  8. Medical Fitness Certificate as prescribed in the admission brochure.
  9. Demand Draft of Rs. 2,69,700 in favour of “Registrar DTU”, payable at Delhi.

Candidates should ensure that all required documents are complete before reporting for counselling.

DTU Special Spot Round Seat Allotment Process

Seats will be offered category-wise. Within each category, candidates will be called according to their JEE Main CRL rank.

Vacant seats will be offered to eligible candidates based on merit and seat availability.

If a candidate is allotted a seat but fails to deposit the admission fee Demand Draft immediately at the time of allotment, the allotted seat will be cancelled immediately and offered to the next eligible candidate according to CRL merit.

Candidates who fail to report according to the specified schedule will lose their claim for admission.

Important Instructions for Candidates

DTU has clarified that merely appearing in the Special Spot Round does not guarantee admission. Admission will depend on merit and the availability of vacant seats.The candidature of a candidate may be cancelled immediately if there is any deficiency in the required documents. No request or representation will be entertained thereafter as per the notice.Candidates should also note that if they withdraw after taking admission, no fee will be refunded.Any required seat conversion will be carried out as defined in the JAC 2026 Admission Brochure.
