The Office of the Director of Health Services, Medical Education & Research (DME), Meghalaya has released an advertisement for admission to the B.Sc Nursing Course under State Quota for the academic session 2026-27.
Admissions will be conducted at Meghalaya Government College of Nursing, Civil Hospital, Shillong and Shillong Government College of Nursing, Ganesh Das Government M&CH Hospital, Shillong.
As per the notification dated September 14, 2026, online applications will be invited only from candidates who appeared in the State Common Entrance Examination for B.Sc Nursing 2026.
The online application process will begin on September 15, 2026, at 5:00 PM and will remain open until September 20, 2026, at 5:00 PM.
Candidates must submit the application within the prescribed deadline. Applications submitted after the closing date will not be accepted or entertained.
Importantly, the State CEE 2026 Score Sheet is mandatory. Applications submitted without the score sheet will not be considered under any circumstances.
Candidates seeking admission under the State Quota must fulfill the eligibility conditions prescribed by the Meghalaya DME.
The key eligibility requirements are:
Eligible and medically fit candidates will be ranked according to their State CEE 2026 score within their respective categories.
Final selection will be subject to the Reservation Policy of the State of Meghalaya.
The Directorate will publish the list of candidates eligible to appear for the screening/counselling process, along with the screening/counselling centre and date, on the official government website.
If two or more candidates obtain the same percentile in the entrance examination, the merit position will be decided using the following tie-breaking criteria:
Counselling and seat allocation will be conducted for eligible shortlisted candidates according to the prescribed category-wise rules.
For the Open Category, seats will be allotted solely on merit.
For other categories, including Khasi & Jaintia, Garo, SC and OST, seats will be allocated according to the respective category rank.
The notification states that in the first round, candidates holding the first rank in each category will be considered for seat allocation. In the second round, second-ranked candidates will be considered, and the process will continue until the available seats are exhausted.
The final list of selected candidates will be prepared based on the State CEE score in the respective categories.

The Directorate has clarified that no individual intimation will be served to applicants selected for nomination. Candidates are responsible for checking the published selection lists.
Selected candidates must report to the Office of the Director of Health Services, Medical Education & Research, Shillong to collect their nomination letter and follow further instructions.
Candidates who fail to report within the specified date will automatically lose their right to nomination, and the next eligible candidate from the waiting list may be nominated.
Candidates nominated for admission will have to comply with the terms and conditions of admission and other requirements of the concerned medical institution.
The applicable recurring fees and other prescribed charges will have to be paid by the candidate/student within the stipulated time.
The Government has also clarified that admission to the B.Sc Nursing course does not guarantee a government job after completion of studies.
Candidates who had previously applied for the B.Sc Nursing State Quota admission under the earlier advertisement dated July 27, 2026 must submit a fresh application.
Applications submitted under the previous advertisement will not be considered for the present admission process.
Candidates should therefore complete a new application within the current application window.
