How to Challenge UGC-NET Provisional Answer Key 2026

Candidates can follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official UGC-NET/NTA website.
  2. Log in using the required candidate credentials.
  3. Open the provisional answer key and recorded responses.
  4. Check the questions and answers carefully.

What Happens After Candidates Submit Challenges?

The challenges submitted by candidates will be examined by the designated subject matter experts.

If a challenge is found to be correct on merit, NTA will revise the provisional answer key. The responses of candidates will then be evaluated using the revised final answer key for preparation and declaration of the result.

NTA has clarified that individual decisions on every challenge will not be communicated separately to candidates.

The final answer key will be published on the official website before declaration of the result.

Same Challenge Does Not Need to Be Submitted Multiple Times

If a particular challenge is accepted by the subject experts, the resulting correction will be applied uniformly to all candidates of that subject.

Therefore, candidates do not need to submit the same challenge more than once.

The processing fee of INR 200 will be refunded for every challenge that is accepted by the subject experts.

No Challenges After Deadline

Candidates must submit their objections within the prescribed challenge period.

NTA has stated that no challenge or grievance regarding the answer key will be entertained after the challenge window closes or after the result is declared.

Therefore, candidates who have concerns regarding any question or answer should make use of the official challenge facility before 11:59 PM on September 13, 2026.
