The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a public notice regarding the challenge of provisional answer keys for the UGC-NET June 2026 re-examination.
As per the notice dated September 10, 2026, NTA conducted the UGC-NET June 2026 re-examination for English, Commerce and Sociology at various locations across the country on September 9 and September 10, 2026.
NTA has now uploaded the provisional answer keys and recorded responses for these three subjects and has invited candidates to submit challenges against the questions, if required. The official UGC-NET website currently lists the provisional-answer-key challenge notice among its 2026 public notices.
Candidates who appeared for the three-subject re-examination can challenge the provisional answer key within the prescribed online window.

Candidates must submit the challenge along with the required processing fee within the prescribed deadline. Challenges submitted through email, fax, letter or any other mode will not be accepted.
Candidates can follow these steps:
Candidates should submit challenges only during the official challenge window.
The challenges submitted by candidates will be examined by the designated subject matter experts.
If a challenge is found to be correct on merit, NTA will revise the provisional answer key. The responses of candidates will then be evaluated using the revised final answer key for preparation and declaration of the result.
NTA has clarified that individual decisions on every challenge will not be communicated separately to candidates.
The final answer key will be published on the official website before declaration of the result.
If a particular challenge is accepted by the subject experts, the resulting correction will be applied uniformly to all candidates of that subject.
Therefore, candidates do not need to submit the same challenge more than once.
The processing fee of INR 200 will be refunded for every challenge that is accepted by the subject experts.
Candidates must submit their objections within the prescribed challenge period.
NTA has stated that no challenge or grievance regarding the answer key will be entertained after the challenge window closes or after the result is declared.
Therefore, candidates who have concerns regarding any question or answer should make use of the official challenge facility before 11:59 PM on September 13, 2026.
